PAUL MITCHELL THE ART OF STYLE PLUS GIVEAWAY

Recently scottnothingtodowithyou was invited along to the art of style event by the lovely Sarah at Paul Mitchell. The Art of Style is the new Christmas gift campaign that is out this year with some fabulous products and this was my opportunity to hear all about them!

The event was held in the very popular and stunning Blythswood hotel. It was at night and was pretty dark by the time I arrived so apologies for the photo lacking. You'll be able to read about last years campaign here and find out about all the slogan packages. This year the packaging was designed by fashion illustrator Sarah Harkinson who has worked with the likes of Vogue and Harpers Bazaar WOW or what? The packaging is absolutely beautiful, it's very soft and beautiful and exactly like something you would find in a high fashion magazine. The sets are all different and offer a range of shampoos, conditioners, styling products and more. They start from £18 and go up to £35 and make that perfect Christmas present for all the family hairlovers.

On the night I also got the opportunity to have my hair styled by the wonderful stylists from Hely Hair Studio, I must say I had that much product I didnt think they would be able to do much for me but they proved me wrong.

Now you'll be thinking up until this point it's all about the ladies, well that is where you are wrong! I've had a love for Paul Mitchell products since I was young as my mum always had the products in the house. Last year Sarah introduced me to the Mitch products just for us boys and I've not stopped using them since. So instead of telling you all about my journey with the products i'm giving you not only one but two opportunities to win a set from the Mitch collection. One via rafflecopter and one via my twitter account (here.) Please see below for some more info on the sets.

DREAM BUT DO NOT SLEEP

If you're all about reversible bucket hats, colourful graphic tees and cut and sew hoodies then look no futher Dream but do not sleep have got it all covered for you.

Dream but do not sleep are an independant UK streetwear brand smashing its way through the electronic dance music scene since 2012. Their designs are bright, bold and give off good vibes. DBDNS have been growing steadily for 2 years and I expect many more years to come giving what I've seen already.

Many of their products are hand made in England and this is something the brand will continue to do for the years coming. This also allows them make any improvements and add details to the collections last minute to make sure we are getting the best products possible.

Take a look at my favourite pieces from the SS/14 collection which has got me excited for the AW/14 collection which will be coming soon!

My favourite items of this collection have to be the paisley pattern hat and the got munchies tee! Whats your favourite? Remember to check out their site (here) to see more of the collection and keep your eyes peeled for the AW/14 collection which i've heard is going to have sports inspired pieces with custom geometric prints, graphic tees, monochrome, beanies and bucket hats.

Monochrome, what? did someone say monochrome? IM THERE!

IT'S A POP UP!

Hello everyone, scottnothingtodowithyou has some amazing news to share with you. Shearer candles has a brand new pop up store within the very fabulous Princes Square - Glasgow.

Now we all know from previous posts and copious amounts of instagram pictures that I'm a bit daft for candles so I was super excited to be invited to the launch preview for a first look at the brand new store and a first look at some of the amazing Christmas scents Shearer candles have to offer.

The store is situated on the ground floor of Princes Square and very easy to find. As I approached the store the lights where dimmed which gave it a very exclusive feel, I was welcomed by a beautiful mix of scents that where burning beautifully away inside the beautifully decorated space. The store was set up and Christmas came early for us all that night. There was a perfectly placed dinning table in the centre of the room with decorations that gave off that perfect Christmas dinner feeling. There was candles lit all around, a Christmas tree and its very own fire place and it felt super cosy but spacious at the same time was a perfect mixture.

I took a look around the store with Jennifer and Naomi my fellow blogging beauties and gave them the low down on all the candles I had learned about from my previous trip the Shearer Candles factory (recap here). I also got to catch up with the girls from wave pr and the girls from Shearers and talk about all things candles and Christmas. A favourite candle mentioned by many on the night was the Persian Lime candle which of course I automatically added to my shopping list that I had been storing in my head.

After a little over indulging on some of the most amazing appetisers and sniffing every scent about four or five times I finally decided on the candles I was going home with. A selection of candles where 50% so I had to take full advantage of that! I was instantly in candle overload. My hands where that full at one point after picking up so many that I had to make two trips around the store! I got around about 10 candles in a selection of sizes all for under £30 which I couldn't believe. The candles are fantastic and leave the smell lingering even after blown out.

If you're stuck for Christmas gifts or looking for a new scent for the house I would recommend getting yourself along. My favourite scent for the moment is Egyptian Cotton it is so fresh and perfect for burning in the bedroom before going to sleep.
